Customer Service Representative December 1989 - March 1993
In this role, I learned the basic laws of all payroll tax types at both the state and federal levels. Using that knowledge I was able to help Bank of America's clients resolve complex payroll tax issues, such as liens and levies. Over the years I had established useful federal and state agency contacts.
As team leader of ten Customer Service Representatives, I would field tax-related questions from my colleagues, and train new employees how to respond to IRS and state unemployment agency notices.
During my time at Bank of America, I achieved the best performance metrics in my unit, and was promoted three times.

This is me with my colleague Suzy Aguilar at a Christmas party at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco in 1992. This was our last Christmas party as Bank of America sold our division to Automatic Data Processing (ADP), and just about everyone was laid off in 1993. Good times.
